Work in progress…
After cutting and sanding my wood panel, painting the panel, torching a layer of resin and guilding the piece(in this case with silver leaf) I do a drawing black wax and begin to cut through the layers.
After the composition has been cut I sand the surface to bring in additional texture and depth.
At this point I have laid an additional layer of resin and I’m torching it…this pulls all the bubbles out and insures a smooth surface.
I have allowed the piece to dry for several days and I’m now guilding an additional layer (one of my highlight layers) of gold leaf. As I apply the leafing I am also
cutting additional details. I repeat this stage several times until the composition is correct.
In the final stages I apply and torch several additional layers of resin.
